With family roots in Amsterdam, Holland, our great, great grandfather Herman Hartgers immigrated as a diamond setter to the United States in 1888 to continue his line of work in the diamond industry in New York City.
For more than six decades the Hartgers family owned a booth at the New York Diamond Exchange in downtown Manhattan. We bought and sold diamonds while building a jewelry clientele not only in New York City, but also in the suburbs of New Jersey. The business moved to Wyckoff, New Jersey in 1984 where Hartgers Jewelers was established in an old farmhouse on Wyckoff Avenue, where we are today. We are currently welcoming our fifth generation of Hartgers family members into the family business.
Over the last thirty years, Hartgers Jewelers has grown its local brand by maintaining the tradition of selling the highest quality diamonds and precious gems, while also establishing and continuing to develop partnerships with the most prestigious Swiss watch brands. We are proud and grateful to represent Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, IWC, Panerai, TUDOR, and Breitling in our retail store.
