Hartgers Jewelers Rolex History

THE START OF SOMETHING TIMELESS

The history of Rolex is inextricably linked to the visionary spirit of Hans Walsdorf, its founder. Like Rolex’s founding in 1905, the Hartgers family was launching our own jewelry tradition in New York City. At the turn of the twentieth century, our founder, Herman Hartgers, immigrated from the Netherlands and began working on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan setting and working with diamonds.

A STRONG LINK TO TRADITION

In 1982 when Rolex was working with the best material, introducing 904L steel to create the most durable and elegant watches in the world; the Hartgers family was building its brand in New York and New Jersey. What began in the heart of the diamond district on The Bowery extended to local neighbors and friends all the way from Manhattan to our hometown in Wyckoff, New Jersey. It was a few years later that we decided to make our location permanent in Wyckoff by purchasing an old farmhouse and transforming it to a jewelry store.

BRIDGING TOGETHER JEWELRY WITH WATCHES

Just like the launch of the iconic Pearlmaster in 1992 - it was during this time that Hartgers introduced timepieces to our store and began our partnership with Rolex. In 1996 Hartgers Jewelers became an Official Rolex Jeweler, proudly selling the collection of prestigious, high-precision timepieces to Northern New Jersey.

THE WORLD OF ROLEX & HARTGERS TODAY

Continuing the tradition of Perpetual Excellence, Hartgers has expanded our partnership by dedicating an entire building in our store to an immersive Rolex experience and service center. We continue to bring Rolex’s vision as a symbol for life's most exceptional moments to our storefront every day - creating a space that makes purchasing a Rolex watch a truly unforgettable experience.
